He received his Bachelor’s in Biblical Studies with concentrations in Preaching and Counseling from Point University (West Point, GA) in 2014. Arty has worked in Residence Life at both Point University and Columbus State prior to shifting to clinical work at the University of West Georgia Counseling Center as an intern and then as a staff counselor. Dr. Caldwell (she/her/hers) received her doctorate degree in Counseling Psychology in 2000 from Texas Tech University, in Lubbock, TX, where she also completed her pre-doctoral internship. She joined the Counseling Center staff in August of 2000 as a staff psychologist. She has since served as the Assistant Director for Training, and the Interim Clinical Services Director. Dr. Caldwell has been the Director of the Center since January of 2012; in January 2018, she became the Executive Director of the Counseling Center for all Georgia Southern campuses. Dr. Caldwell is the Past Chair of the university鈥檚 Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) and serves as the President of the Board of Directors for the Teal House: Statesboro Regional Sexual Assault Center and Child Advocacy Center (SRSAC). On the state level, Dr. Caldwell is the past chair of the Regents Advisory Council鈥檚 Counseling Directors Association, and the coordinator of the University System of Georgia鈥檚 Crisis Response Network. On a national level, Dr. Caldwell is currently serving her third elected term to the Directorate Board of the Commission for Counseling and Psychological Services of the American College Personnel Association and was certified as a Red Cross Disaster Mental Health Responder.
Dr. Caldwell鈥檚 clinical interests are varied and include women鈥檚 issues, multiculturalism, and professional development concerns. Dr. Caldwell was the recipient of a 2005 Award of Merit for 鈥淓xcellence in Service to the 橘子视频 Community鈥, the 2006 鈥淐ommitment to Advocacy Award鈥 for dedication to the issue of Sexual Assault Education, the 2010 鈥40 Under 40鈥 award from the Statesboro Herald for professional achievement, and the 2014 鈥淥utstanding Contributions to Counseling Center Work鈥 award from Division 17 of the American Psychological Association. In 2019, she was awarded both the “College Counseling Advocacy Award” from the American College Counseling Association and the “College Counseling Director of the Year Award” from the Georgia College Counseling Association.

Alia Carata (she/her/hers) obtained her Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University (Fort Lauderdale, FL) and her Bachelor’s in Psychology with a minor in Neuroscience from Armstrong Atlantic State University. Alia is both a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia and a Nationally Certified Counselor. Alia joins us with prior experience in treating clients with concerns related to trauma, abuse, mood disorders, anxiety, attachment wounds, grief/loss, and interpersonal relationships. Dr. Victoria Forlini (she/her/hers) earned her PsyD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Hartford. Her clinical population interests include individuals who have experienced sexual violence, intimate partner violence, and other forms of trauma. Victoria uses an internal family systems approach leaning heavily on parts work to collaboratively explore one鈥檚 trauma. She uses parts work and a person-centered approach to create healing within the client. In addition to trauma work, Victoria has experience in treating anxiety and mood disorders. Victoria focuses on challenging unhelpful thoughts/behaviors, behavioral activation, and boundary setting. She strives to create a safe, comfortable, and socially just environment for all of her clients.
Victoria has worked in a variety of clinical environments including a university counseling center, residential eating disorder facility, intensive outpatient/partial hospitalization program, and community mental health settings. Victoria also has experience working on a mobile crisis team and the suicide prevention lifeline for several years prior to earning her doctorate. She has a passion for working with young adults.

He completed his doctoral degree in counseling psychology at Oklahoma State University and his doctoral internship at the 橘子视频 Counseling Center. He received his master鈥檚 degree in counseling from Indiana University, his bachelor鈥檚 degree in psychology from Ohio State, and is a National Certified Counselor. His clinical focus includes college student development, existential concerns, autism spectrum disorders, sexual health and well-being, intimate partner violence, relational concerns, social justice-related issues, and gender and sexual diversity. His therapeutic orientation is an integrative approach utilizing Rogerian, feminist, and solution-focused methods with a dash of psychodynamic.

Paige received their master’s in mental health counseling from Florida State University and bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Florida. Paige’s clinical interests include working with LGBTQ+ individuals, grief and loss, anxiety, and identity concerns, including questioning meaning or identity during life transitions. Kate Klinger (she/her/hers) is a masters-level practicum counselor working towards her M.Ed. in Counselor Education with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She earned her B.A. in Psychology from the University of South Carolina Beaufort. Throughout her master鈥檚 program, Kate has gained clinical experience providing individual and group therapy to adolescents and college students. She maintains a client-centered perspective by listening, having unconditional positive regard, and empathy. Kate utilizes an integrative approach to help you explore your past experiences as well as relational and familial dynamics. Together she collaborates with her clients to work toward identifying patterns and accomplishing your desired goals. This approach will provide you with the awareness that will help you process your emotions, behaviors, and thoughts as well as promote feeling more grounded in the present moment. She provides a safe and supportive environment so that as the client, you can express yourself and process your feelings. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, spending time with family and friends, and being a pet mom!

Nathan Young (He/him/his) is working to complete a Master’s degree in Counselor Education at Georgia Southern. He has an interest in helping people understand themselves and cultivate who they want to be. He uses a person-centered approach through primarily acceptance commitment therapy (ACT) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). He aims to uncover the wisdom that each client has, and allow a space for clients to choose what their next steps are. He is open minded and wants to help whomever is in front of him. He has a particular clinical interest in young adults who struggle with healthy technology use, depression, anxiety and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). He carefully listens and moves toward understanding the experience of his clients. He aims to provide a space for college students to decide what is important to them, and to make choices that come from within. In his free time, Nathan enjoys rock climbing, video/board games, and spending time with loved ones.
